When
you’re a telecoms provider that boasts a £20m turnover, employing 185 people
in five different countries, having the latest CCTV system on your premises is
a necessity.
Aculab PLC – which has its headquarters in Milton Keynes - has used Ace Fire and Security for the last ten years for the majority of its security requirements.
Ace has just finished installing more advanced software into
their CCTV cameras;
this enables the cameras to be remotely monitored so if anyone attempts to enter
their premises outside of operational hours, it will activate and alert the remote
monitoring centre where they can zoom in, see what’s going on and take appropriate
action, following site instructions. (Staff are certainly familiar with the local
dog walkers crossing the Aculab car parks and grounds!)
Number one Choice for Security
“Ace is our number one choice time and time again,” says Aculab’s Facilities Manager,
Keith Green. “Everything about the company is faultless, from cheery Jackie on
reception who sends me out a friendly engineer straight away. I really like the
fact that I know all the staff by name and they always make me feel like a special,
valued customer.”
Aculab
have been so impressed with Ace’s services they are now phasing out their national
security supplier to make Ace their sole provider. Keith told us: “As our relationship
with Ace has strengthened over the years we decided using the national company
was a complete waste of money.” He adds: “At present we only use intruder alarm
provided by the national company on one building and over the next couple of months
we will be instructing Ace to take over”.
Cost Effect and Efficient
Even though Keith believes Ace isn’t the cheapest security provider on the market,
he feels they are extremely competitive and confirms you get what you pay for.
“I’m happy as I’m paying less to Ace, than what I was paying to the national company,
however telephone messages aren’t being lost, calls aren’t being ignored and jobs
aren’t half finished”.
Ensuring Aculab’s large complex in Mount Farm is well protected has always been of paramount importance for the company. Previously they employed security guards at a cost of £50,000 a year – but Aculab decided to install advanced cameras that didn’t fall asleep on a night shift! They recommend that any company in need of good security provisions opt for an electronic approach due to reliability, expense and efficiency.
Finally, Keith says that he continues to enjoy a healthy relationship with
Ace: “It’s good that I get updated with information about the latest security
models, information on my cameras and courtesy calls about my account”. He adds
that it’s refreshing to find a company who do this “without pressurising customers
to invest in new models or spend money where it’s not needed”.
