WeWork Lafayette occupies a beautiful, historic building in Paris with a magnificent listed central atrium. Ace was appointed directly by WeWork to design, specify and install a full security solution, including access control and CCTV systems. Having already partnered with WeWork on many of their sites across Europe, worked on many of the previous WeWork sites, the WeWork design and construction teams had complete confidence that we could meet their needs and deliver the project on time and within budget.

Key issues

After being provided with an outline General Arrangement drawing we designed, specified and installed a large scale security solution which included access control and CCTV systems.

 

We installed S2 access control as the client wanted a scalable enterprise system that allows for all sites to be centrally managed. The access control was added to the main entry and exit points, speed lanes, and individual office doors for key personnel, as well as critical areas such as storage and IT rooms.

 

We installed 190 Panasonic CCTV cameras across the six floors, including at entry and exit points, communal spaces, lobby areas, corridors, and critical rooms. We also installed the video management software Panasonic Video Insight. A dedicated Project Manager oversaw the entire project from start to finish.

We added a much more comprehensive CCTV system to the one that had already been quoted to ensure appropriate protection. Working closely with the client in New York, we opted for full integration with access control and CCTV. Their access control and CCTV is fully integrated, so if there’s a forced door in the building it can be picked up on CCTV in real-time and accessed in New York.

We also installed a Texecom Ricochet wireless intruder alarm system. A wireless system was chosen because the building had large lattice glass windows on the front and side elevations which were unsuitable for cables.

Outcome

The installation was carried out on time and within budget using the specific products requested by the client. We were able to design a solution that provided them with the high level of security they needed without compromising the aesthetics of the space. WeWork have peace of mind that the design matches the systems they have in place across all their sites and that the people and assets occupying the building are safe.
